Snowmass Walkway to Carrot Park

Thanks to Mr Holland, the developer of Snowmass, RMC and Alpine Way, it looks like there may finally be light at the end of the tunnel for the walkway. Though there is nothing in concrete as of yet, so we will continue to work with Mr Holland to secure this and ensure its done.

Council accepts that to protect the ongoing future use of the accessway by owners and visitors to the area known as ‘Snowmass’ it will instruct both a surveyor and a solicitor to undertake the necessary survey and legal process to map the accessway and declare it to be a Local Purpose (accessway) reserve. It is intended to commence the work in the financial year beginning July 2025.

Council have now also admitted that there is a encroachment on Carrot Park, but still denies it is illegal, yes contradict themselves and say

Council accepts that there is a small encroachment of the formed road on the adjoining reserve land which, for future road maintenance purposes, should undergo a road legalisation process

This issue is far from resolved. CEO Clive Manley appears to act as though he is above the law, making decisions for which the council seemingly cannot provide proper documentation. We will continue to hold him, and others at the council, accountable for their actions.
